What is Flax Seed?
Flaxseed is the seed of the flax plant, historically used as a source of fiber. It is available in powder, oil, and capsule form. Flaxseed oil (also called linseed oil) comes from the seeds of the flax plant.

Please note that Flaxseed oil does not have the same nutritional value as the whole or ground flax seed. Flax seed in oil form, does not contain the dietary fiber and the protein. Flax seed oil contains only the omega-3 fatty acids without the benefits of the fiber and protein.

There is no difference between brown flax seed and golden flax seed.
